OUR MISSION
Sustainable & Just Future is an emerging Gen Z nonprofit addressing the environmental education gap. We are solutions-oriented and action-focused, with the goal of equipping the next generation with the knowledge and skills they need to become climate solutionists.
We work with students, faculty, and climate experts to help build the programs that young people really want and need to be prepared for the green economy and for applying systems thinking to diverse and interconnected environmental problems.
OUR GOALS
EDUCATE YOUTH
We are working to bring solutions-oriented environmental education on a large-scale through integration at universities, equipping future decision makers to advance sustainable and equitable solutions in their careers.
EMPOWER CLIMATE SOLUTIONS
We aim to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to build coalitions and create real-life solutions for their communities.
ADVOCATE FOR SYSTEMS CHANGE
Through widespread success in implementing sustainable solutions in communities, we aim to deliver a blueprint for systems adoption of sustainability education, practices, and infrastructure.
KEY STRATEGIES
1. Advocacy — Surveying the state of climate education on campuses and building student demand and pressure through high-visibility campaigns and campus dialogues.
2. Institutionalization — Working with faculty, climate experts, and our student fellows to co-develop new climate solutions education standards for their university.
3. Student-led solutions initiatives — Supporting students in designing and implementing context-specific sustainable solutions.
